Clive Barker, geb. 1952 in Liverpool erlebte den Drchbruch in den 1980er Jahren mit seinen 'Books of Blood', die ihn mit einem Schlag als einen der originellsten und versiertesten Horror-Autoren etablierten. Es folgten Romane, die jegliche Genregrenzen überwanden. Er gilt neben Stephen King und Dean Koontz als erfolgreichster Autor der fantastischen Literatur. Neben seinen literarischen Werken hat sich Barker als Maler und Filmregisseur einen Namen gemacht.
Clive Barker was born in Liverpool in 1952. His earlier books include 'The Books of Blood', 'Cabal', and 'The Hellbound Heart'. In addition to his work as a novelist and playwright, he also iilustrates, writes, directs and produces for stage and screen. His films include 'Hellraiser', 'Hellbound', 'Nightbreed' and 'Candyman'. Clive lives in Beverly Hills, California.
