David Vann wurde 1966 auf Adak Island/Alaska geboren. Seine Romane sind vielfach preisgekrönt und erschienen bisher in 22 Ländern. Vann lebt mit seiner Frau in Kalifornien und ist derzeit Professor an der University of Warwick in England.
