It integrates material from a wide variety of sources among the arts, sciences, and spiritual traditions of humanity. Filled with unusual quotes, amusing and illuminating anecdotes, and original metaphors, it reveals how inspiration arises within us, how that inspiration may be blocked, derailed or obscured by certain unavoidable facts of life, and how finally it can be liberated - how we can be liberated - to speak or sing, write or paint, dance or play, with our own authentic voice.

Stephen Nachmanovitch wurde 1950 geboren und lebt in Virginia. Er ist Musiker, bildender Künstler, Autor und ein gefragter Vortragender an Universitäten und Konservatorien. Sein Lebensthema ist die Improvisation bzw. die Spiritualität kreativer Prozesse in Leben und Kunst. Als Violinist gibt er seit den 70er Jahren Konzerte mit improvisierter Musik. Neben zahlreichen Auftritten in Funk und Fernsehen, bei Musik- und Theaterfestivals hält er ein Vielzahl von Workshops in aller Welt ab.
