As the scenario unfolds and actual villains arrive to shake things up, the U.A. students will have to find new ways to work with each other and make use of their Quirks. Fun, action-packed story that takes inspiration from American superhero comics. * Releases 6 times a year for 15+ volumes. Series is ongoing. * Starting with volume 12, release frequency speeds up from quarterly to bimonthly. Announcement of speedup was well-received by fans, garnering over 4,200 likes on Twitter alone. * Volumes 1-9 have sold through over 204,000 copies in the U.S. to date (Bookscan 10/17). * Debuted on BookScan at #6 (8/15), and new volumes continue to chart in the Graphic Novels Top Ten. * The Spring 2017 release of the anime's second season increased the popularity of My Hero Academia to the point that it compares with megahits such as Tokyo Ghoul and One-Punch Man. * Anime simulcast on Funimation.

Kohei Horikoshi was born in Aichi, Japan, in 1986. He received a Tezuka Award Honorable Mention in 2006, and following the publication of several short stories in Akamaru Jump, his first serialized work in Weekly Shonen Jump was Oumagadoki Zoo in 2010. My Hero Academia is his third series in Weekly Shonen Jump.
